Central Campus History
In November 1978, a small group from Crossfield Baptist Church in Crossfield, AB began meeting regularly in Airdrie, AB for worship services and then organized as a local Baptist church under the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada. The first Sunday service was held on June 3, 1979, and the first sermon was preached by one of the senior men.
Grace Baptist Church was incorporated in February 1988 and on September 26, 1988, a dedication service was held for the newly completed building at the current location. Over the years, the original church building has been added on and renovated. In 2017, Grace Baptist Church joined with the Canadian National Baptist Convention, which has about 450 churches across Canada. Today, our congregation of approximately 400 meets in two services on Sunday morning with Dr. John Harrison serving as the Senior Pastor. Grace is a vibrant church with a variety of programs for all ages throughout the week, and plans to launch a second campus in the spring of 2025.
